Fri. Oct. 23 - 5:00 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. Big "Bandshell Live" Bash - There was a display of great cars & trucks in the Bandshell itself and more special cars & trucks in Oceanfront Park, on the grass on the Ocean side of the Hilton Hotel, just south of the famous Bandshell. These special cars were admired by a large crowd who enjoyed an opening musical act from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m.. Then, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., the band "Steam" performed (known for their #1 hit from 1969). Their selection of tunes, their outstanding vocal and intrumental interpretation of these songs and their stage presence was terrific. The crowd really got into "Steam" with lots of cheerleaders in the area for competition dancing in front of the stage and even getting up on stage with the band during a couple songs. From 8:00 to 8:30 p.m. everyone enjoyed a terrific racing movie - the 1957 convertible race that took place here on the sands of Daytona Beach. It was fantastic. Following the racing film, "Steam" was back on stage with another great performance until 9:45 p.m. Thanks to the City of Daytona Beach, Wyatt Davis, and the NAPA Auto Parts store at 945 W. Int'l Speedway Blvd., Daytona Beach, 32114 for making this Friday night 10/23 entertainment possible.

Sat. Oct. 24 - 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Check-in and photo shoot for all cars & trucks participating in the Daytona Beach Dream Cruise in the north eastern area of the parking lot at the Volusia Mall, 1700 W. International Speedway Blvd., across from the Daytona Int'l Speedway. There was quick check-in and more photographers minimizing the time cars were in line. In early December, we will mail each owner their free digitally-enhanced photo. We'll provide the envelope and we'll cover the cost of postage. When each collector / special interest car or truck arrives at check-in, we handed the driver a photo info card and a pen. Each driver filled out this photo info card and gave it to the photographer when the photo is shot, so we have name, address and vehicle identifying details. All collector / special interest cars and trucks were entitled to get their official event photo shot at this location, whether or not registered online in advance, but we only shot these photos between 7:30 a.m. & 4:00 p.m. Sat. Oct. 24. At check-in, we also handed out a printed schedule and map showing what was happening, when & where. Also at check-in, we gave each owner a windshield sticker and a nice dash plaque. All day long, a number of cars were displayed in front of the Volusia Mall near the food court entrance. This year, many cars also were displayed along the eastern perimeter of the mall's parking lot, taking advantage of tree shade since it was a fairly warm day.

Sat. Oct. 24 - Suggested times are 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m.; 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and
8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for
Cruising a Recommended 3 mile stretch of Atlantic Ave ( A1A ) within the corporate limits of the City of Daytona Beach. The suggested way to have optimal concentration for maximized enjoyment by participants and spectators alike was for as many cruisers to do their desired cruising during the above suggested times and within the boundaries recommended below. The recommended turnaround at the northern limit of the designated cruising route was Plaza Blvd, just north of Bellair Plaza, while the recommended turnaround at the southern limit of the suggested cruising route was Main St.
While the official cruising route was on the paved roadway known as Atlantic Ave (A1A ) that runs parallel with the "World's Most Famous Beach", we knew that some participants would be curious about driving on the beach. However, it was recognized that some owners of collector cars and trucks would not want to drive on the sand. Therefore, driving on the beach was not an official activity of the Daytona Beach Dream Cruise. However, in order to help anyone who wished to drive on the beach during this event, we prepared a document showing times for high & low tides and times for sunrise & sunset all three days of the event, plus beach ramp details, beach toll details and beach rules & regulations. For information about driving on the sands of area beaches this weekend,

Sat. Oct. 24 - 5:00 p.m. - until. "Sock Hop at the Hatch". Take A1A (S. Atlantic Ave.) south to Ponce Inlet (turn right at first stop sign - Beach St. - and follow it two blocks to the Hatch, at the River). Exclusive Premiere Test Screening of the New Hot Rod Film Everyone is Talking About "DEUCE OF SPADES".
This was a one time only incredible opportunity to be the very first people anywhere in the world to see the greatly anticipated Hot Rod period drama DEUCE OF SPADES. Filmmaker Faith Granger welcomed feedback from our viewers who were asked to fill out and turn in a questionnaire following this exclusive test screening of a director's cut of the film. The final editing of DEUCE OF SPADES will be done in accordance with comments from Dream Cruise viewers. It's been 30 years since the last hot rod film. Finally there will be another! Fast hotrods, cool cats, gravity defying swing dancing, and rockin' retro music all serve as a colorful backdrop to this heartfelt, inspiring story. DEUCE OF SPADES is the first ever produced hotrod film with great substance and depth and promises to capture the heart of both male and female audiences alike. The plot will keep you engaged throughout the duration of the film. DEUCE OF SPADES stands in a class of its own, bringing a unique, new fresh look at hotrods.Great, period-correct cars have been powerfully captured through superb cinematography. Some of the key scenes were shot on location in the heart of the California desert, at El Mirage Dry Lake, the Holy Ground of Speed. DEUCE OF SPADES is true to the era and true to hot rod tradition, marvelously conveying what hot rodding culture was back in the day. Three years in the making, this film will be talked about for years. The Aquarium Restaurant & Nightclub adjacent to the Halifax Harbor Marina was the wonderful venue for this once-in-a-lifetime Exclusive Premiere Test Screening of DEUCE OF SPADES. The first showing of the movie began after 7:00 p.m. The second and final screening began around 10:30 p.m. There was a nice display of special cars adjacent to the viewing area with a good representation of '32 Fords. An appreciative audience of 500 car enthusiasts viewed this spectacular new full-length film for free on the lawn, sitting on folding chairs and blankets, adjacent to the Halifax Harbor Marina boat slips.

There's extra text beneath the following movie poster so scroll down beneath it to see more about Sat. night & Sun. daytime activities at The Aquarium.

Collectible souvenirs were available for purchase in support of this monumental independent film from Faith Granger, film maker extraordinaire. Being at The Aquarium for DEUCE OF SPADES was truly unforgettable experience!

DEUCE OF SPADES is sure to become the next cult film and promises to set the hot rod community on fire. Both Gene Winfield and Bill Hines have cameo parts in the film, but the real star of the film remains the 1932 Ford Deuce Roadster. Flashback scenes resurrect the old jalopies, swing dancing, a time of innocence, and flagmen. DEUCE OF SPADES is historically correct, down to the smallest details. Film maker Faith Granger would not have it any other way.
