While the schedule will be continually updated leading up to the Oct. 25-27th dates of the event, an exciting piece of news regarding this year's event explained in the schedule is that owners of collector cars and trucks participating in this year's event are invited to display their vehicles on the lawn in beautiful Riverfront Park, adjacent to the Halifax River, along Beach Street, in downtown Daytona Beach on Friday, Oct. 25th. That evening, there will even be a terrific movie on a huge inflated screen in the park that can be viewed "drive-in" style from your collector vehicle. This will be a great opportunity for many who saw the "Deuce of Spades" test screenings in 2009 & 2010 at the Daytona Beach Dream Cruise to meet her and see her car, just as they got to meet Timothy Luke, the film's male lead who plays Johnny Callaway, at this event in 2010. Aug. 12, 2011 - The event kickoff will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21 when check-in and shooting of Official Keepsake Photos will get underway at the Bermuda House Hotel, 2560 N. July 14, 2011 - A "sneak peek" into exciting event enhancements for 2011 has been added to this web site's home page today advising that check-in and shooting of official photos will take place both Friday & Saturday this year. Also noted is a new emphasis on venues along N. Atlantic Ave., better cruising, and a direct route to Saturday evening's target area. A finalized Schedule will be added by early August.
Oct. 18, 2010 - A helpful aerial photo with street names was added to the schedule page of this web site 10/18 showing the locations of two great riverfront venues in downtown Daytona Beach on the western shore of the Halifax River. Included are City Island Park where a terrific gathering with concert and beach racing movies will take place Friday afternoon and evening and Halifax Harbor Marina Park/Blue Grotto where the final test screening of the "Deuce of Spades" movie will occur Saturday evening and where there will also be a big gathering Sunday morning and afternoon.
Oct. 2, 2010 - Significant recent changes were made to the schedule page of this web site 10/1 with the addition of two more maps, one showing numbered map spots corresponding to chronologically arranged descriptions of activities at each official venue and the other new map specifically defining locations of participating venues along Saturday's 2.1 mile "Cruise 92" cruising route that runs between Fentress Blvd. on the west and White Street on the east.
There was also a fairly recent update to the schedule page on 9/23 describing two films that will be shown Friday, Oct. 22 featuring great auto racing on the sands of the Daytona Beach area, and giving an update on the movie "Deuce of Spades." The last test screening of "Deuce of Spades" will be Saturday, Oct. 23 at Blue Grotto in downtown Daytona Beach, adjacent to the Halifax Harbor Marina Park.
June 26, 2010 - The Schedule of Events for the 3rd Annual Daytona Beach Dream Cruise has been added to daytonabeachdreamcruise.com . All car and truck enthusiasts will want to partake of the fun Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 22-23-24, 2010. Event Director Rick D'Louhy wants everyone to know that the best features and activities from 2009 are returning and some terrific new venues and more fun are being added. For instance, on Friday, we're adding a great new riverfront venue, not previously used, that enables many more collector cars and the public to be assembled to enjoy the great musical group, "The Volunteers of the U.S. Army Field Band" and that night's free car theme movie. On Saturday, Daytona State College is enabling us to use a huge parking lot that fronts on International Speedway Blvd., where cruising will take place this year. Saturday night, we're featuring the "DEUCE OF SPADES" hot rod movie again, but this year, we're showing the last test screening, with editing nearly finished, whereas in 2009, we hosted the initial test screening of this film. Much of the editing was based on comments from evaluation sheets filled out by our Daytona Beach Dream Cruise audience last year. The 2010 Dream Cruise will again be free for all participants and the general public and again, all years, makes and models of collector cars and trucks are welcome. The best way to learn more about the event is to visit the web site daytonabeachdreamcruise.com and click on the Schedule button. Check back to the web site's schedule several times before the event for updates that will be added periodically as more venues and activities are committed. Dec. 23, 2009 - Official Event Photos from the 2009 Daytona Beach Dream Cruise were added to this web site Dec. 20th so everyone can now see the wide variety of special cars & trucks that participated in the event. When viewing these images, keep in mind that many vehicles were seen at the numerous Dream Cruise venues throughout the weekend that did not come to check-in Sat. and get their official photo shot. This is part of the uniqueness of the Daytona Beach Dream Cruise. Even though we encouraged people to bring their collector cars & trucks to 2009's check-in to get their free official photo and other items, we allowed people to do as they desired and go where they wanted, when they wanted, affording them the opportunity to do many fun things without requiring them to check-in. Enjoy as many photos on this site as you wish. Nov. 23, 2009 - The Daytona Beach Dream Cruise in its second year grew more than 20 percent to include nearly 1,500 participating special vehicles for 2009. This multifaceted event, totally free for all attendees and participants, featured a number of different activities at various venues throughout our area Fri, Sat. & Sun., Oct. 23, 24 & 25. We began Friday with welcoming gatherings as people rolled into town, and then really kicked off in grand style that afternoon as we brought special cars into the Bandshell and OceanfrontPark for a display in conjunction with the City of Daytona Beach's 'Bandshell Live' free concert that night. The band 'Steam' was fantastic and we showed a terrific film of historic beach racing. Learning from last year's big inaugural event, we streamlined procedures and were able to efficiently handle greater numbers of special vehicles at the Volusia Mall check-in Saturday where we shot our unique event photos. Lots of participants displayed their vehicles at a number of venues throughout our area at various times that day and night including two big informal gatherings and two other popular judged shows with awards. Late afternoon, many headed to The Aquarium Restaurant & Nightclub at the Halifax Harbor Park to be ready for that night's well-attended world premiere of the never before seen hot rod film 'Deuce of Spades'. Sunday, many returned to the same venue for an informal display of cars with drawings for lots of significant door prizes including a Royal Caribbean 4 night cruise to the Bahamas. Ten lucky attendees each won $100.00 cash and five people won gift certificates from NPD. There will soon be over 2,500 photos and 10 videos from 2009's event for people to enjoy on the site seen by clicking here.
